Who actually shows up at your door?
A factory-trained technician, and often Omar himself. HUSH is owner-operated, which means the person who answers the phone is the person who runs calls, not a dispatcher passing your job to whichever subcontractor is free.
That matters more than it sounds on a garage door. A torsion spring is wound to hold the full weight of the door, 130 to 350 pounds, so the difference between someone who has done it a thousand times and someone who has watched a video is not a matter of finish quality. How do you quote a job?
Before we start, never after. The service call is $35 to $85 and it is free when the repair comes to more than $250, so on most real repairs the diagnostic costs you nothing.
Published prices are on the site so you can check them before you call: torsion springs from $275 for one and $400 for a matched pair, opener repair from $185, a roller set $150 to $200, and a new door from $1,995 installed. What will you tell us not to do?
Buy a new door when a repair will do. That is the single thing HUSH was started over, and it is still the most common conversation we have.
If a spring, cable or opener failed on a door that is otherwise sound, we fix the part. If the panels are dented or rotting or the door is past 15 to 20 years and you are calling more than once a year, we will say a replacement is the better spend and explain why.
